Frequently Asked Questions
How many lights are there?

Our 2010 display contains over 200,000 lights on 13 acres and using 4 electrical meters.

Why do you have a tune to radio sign? We broadcast our music on FM 107.1.

Who does most of the work to put Christmas in Cotton Plant together?

Our Family and a few friends.

How many hours does it take for the display? July-October an average of 4-5 hours daily by two people.
November an average of 4 to 8 hours daily by two to six people.
We must start putting up the display in July to finish by Thanksgiving which is our opening weekend.

How long does it take to remove the display after Christmas? December 28-March 30 an average of 4 to 5 hours daily by one or two people.

How much wire does it take to run the display? We have estimated the amount to be 2 to 5 miles.

Do you have corporate sponsors? No, the display is our family′s residential display, done as a gift to our community and families who enjoy what we do.

Why do you have so many inflatables? What started out as a decoration for our boys to name at the back of our house has grown into a hobby/collection. You will see inflatables here that are retired, one of a kinds that were never mass produced, one from Europe, one from Mexico, and others that were only sold in large cities in the United States.

When do you start planning for the next year′s display? We usually start thinking about and working on new projects in January so it depends on what we add new whether we start working on projects from February-June.

What are donations used for? Electricity, Updating equipment, Replacing equipment, Light Controllers, Wire, Light bulbs, Receivers, Speakers, Projectors, Adding new items, Etc.(including supplies too numerous to mention), Workers-Between 5 and 10 workers during the hours we are open to the public.

A Note From The Paul Family:

What is our purpose for Christmas in Cotton Plant?

The answer is that it′s all about the excitement of celebrating the birth of Jesus through the time of Christmas with family traditions and memories made. We want our boys to know that it is definitely better to give than to receive and we trust that God will take care of our financial necessities of doing the display through people like you who give donations from the heart. May our display draw everyone closer to the real meaning of Christmas . . .  JESUS.

Remember, ″The Field of Dreams″, ″If you build it they will come″.

Please enjoy your time with us.
