OUR 2006 CHRISTMAS DISPLAY!

We lit up on Friday, December 8 at 6:00 pm. After a day of adjusting, troubleshooting and rearranging, we are officially up with 20,000 lights and 10 sequences comprising 30 minutes of show using 96 80 LOR Channels. We had a problem with one of our controllers and it was removed for repairs. Special thanks to Dan Baldwin at www.lightorama.com for his expedited repairs.

Wow!

Linus's Soliliquoy

These are videos from some of our 2006 selections. I put Linus's Soliliquoy from Charlie Brown Christmas to demonstrate what Christmas is all about. The sequence features alternating lights (it lets me know if I have a burned out strand or not).

Christmas Canon, by Trans Siberian Orchrestra, is a very pretty song that the family wanted to put out this year. The chorale is featured by our snowflakes, the mega tree's star, mini-trees and other lights.  Also seen here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKTLrR7jx68

Lonesome Reindeer Blues, by The Christmas Jug Band, is a bluesy song that has a great bass line, rythym and vocals. For this song, I decided to make Randolph, our singing reindeer. I got the idea from Marty Slack's (www.ChristmasUtah.com) Rudy that he designed and featured last year. Rather than go with a wire frame, I used coroplast to build it. Also seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3-Jgbd7RKU

We have other songs that may be posted later. I had to sneak between the traffic to get these. I hope you enjoy them as much as our family does.

Emmanuel was sequenced by Daniel of
http://www.EverythingDaniel.com  Daniel is a teenager from Williamsburg Va and prepared the sequence last year.  I only modifed the sequence to upgrade for the Reindeer and additional channels.  This song was my favorite that I did this season.   Thanks Daniel!

The above pictures are of our new "star" this year. We have called him Randolph - it is really bad when you start to name these things. Anyway, I hope to mount him out in the yard and connect him to our LOR controller. And if things work out, Randolph will be our lead singer this year on several of our songs.

I am waiting for some glue to dry on the supports and then I will be able to get him secured in the yard.

He has over 500 lights and will use three controls. He was originally cut from a 4' x 8' sheet of coroplast and painted with DecoColor Paint sticks that were purchased from Michaels. I got the idea from Marty Slack, who did a wire frame Rudy as seen on www.ChristmasUtah.com.
